This past weekend I spent 3 days in the workshop of Charles Neil finishing a pencil post bed. While I was there Charles and his office manager Sherri started talking about having a picnic at his shop. His buddy Bob Kloes who has appeared on many of his DVD’s will be there the last 2 weeks of May so they picked the date of Saturday May 24th so everyone can meet both Charles and Bob and check out Charles shop. They would like to know how many people would be interested in attending. If enough people are interested they will try to set something up with one of the local organization to sell food. Maybe even a chicken barbecue put on by the local fire company. If you are interested in attending please email Charles at: workshopofcharlesneil@msn.com or you can email me at: mikega720@yahoo.com and I will let them know
Charles Neil is my mentor and good friend and I can tell you for a fact that the only thing he loves more then doing woodworking is sitting around talking about woodworking. There are a lot of things to do and see in New Market VA so bring the family and spend the day with Charles and Bob.
Hope to be hearing from you!!

I wish I could too. This would be a wonderful opportunity.

Mike you are fortunate to have a relationship like this with Charles. I have watched his videos and found him to be professional and highly motivated plus he does an good video as well.

Thanks for the invite.

Scott you are right when you say that I am fortunate to have the relationship with Charles that I have. He has taught me so much in the 6 months since I first meant him.
When I got there on Friday the police were there. Someone broke in and took both of their video camera’s.
I just talked to Charles and he said that Sherri got a new camera today so they should be shooting more video clips soon. I will be writing more about this when I put up another blog on my pencil post bed.

Well yea Sherri got the new cameras, geez what a hassel, had to go to another upgrade on software as well, and considering we just upgraded to do the final filming of the finishing DVD’s,its gotten a little overbudget ,we struggled with the first cameras for about a year until we could afford new, then they got stolen,we had just gotten used to the new stuff, now we have to start over, and it seems the camera stuff we got six months ago is outdated, and nothing is compatable with what wasnt stolen so we had to buy everything one more time….dont ya hate a thief, and then you got the issue of feeling violated…....and then i found they got my Doritos, boy was i mad,but things could have been worse,we could have lost everything, Kinda funny ,we have a delapidated double wide that sits next door, and the thief left a trail of tools, going right to the door, and then they found my phone charger in the 17 year old kids bedroom,my drill in the basement,so the local police chief “suspects” the kid may have had something to do with it,so we kinda bypassed him and got the county sherrifs office involved and looks like charges will be filed, but while we recovered everything except for a pocket knife, the cameras and my doritos,we still had to buy all new cameras as recovering our cameras doesnt look to good, but as with every pitfall life seems to throw at ya,we will recover from this as well, just as soon as we figure out how to work these %&)&&%$#@@ cameras and software….
