This web site (URL in signature block) is essentially a re-write and re-formulation of one I previously wrote titled “WOODWORKING HAND TOOLS – used in the truck cab/body building trade, N. England, late 1940s”. I never did like it. I did a lot of reflecting during spells of early morning insomnia – one of the curses of growing old – and realized that I had forgotten many things that I wanted to include plus I had gotten some things in the wrong sequence – or plain just remembered them incorrectly. I also found it awkward to write – and read. I hope this web site will be much better.

James, thank you for that-it is a gold mine of information and interest. I wish I had seen the Rex Mill site when I went through a period of pimping up old Stanley, Record etc types. Some mighty strange stuff pitches up here on the edge of the world in the way of old hand tools.

The site is looking good. I used it to look up some info on Miller falls.

James, your website looks interesting so I just bookmarked it so I can get back to it.

Thank you for those kind words. I have just reorganized the References & Resources section to make it more comprehensive.
