Here is a new direct link to my project: Custom artistic ergonomic fancy wood canes for wounded warriors :

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello Everyone,
As many who know me, know that I focus on making walking canes. You can view one of my techniques at How To Make A Custom Cane .
I am currently trying to get my project idea approved for the Pepsi Refresh Project which could fund a major distribution of my ergonomic canes to our wounded warriors.
I need YOUR help! Please vote for my Pepsi Refresh Project idea Custom artistic ergonomic fancy wood canes for wounded warriors : – Vote everyday from May 1-31. This is a direct link.
You can also vote via text messaging for an extra vote! Text: (To Pepsi 73774) 106090.
I’m currently running around #250 and need to be among the TOP TEN rating, so I NEED YOUR VOTE NOW!
If I win I can create canes for our wounded vets, but this depends on YOUR VOTE! Please visit daily to vote and tell your friends and family. For more info on my work visit Big Stick Canes
I can’t stress enough as to how I need your votes, as if I do not have a top rating, I will not be considered for the final selection. This elimination will end this dream and project. SO, PLEASE VOTE EVERYDAY from MAY 1 – MAY 31st. Tell your friends and family and ask them to participate.
Well, as of May 1 (Noon) I will wait to see if I make the cut, I will need all of your support to win this grant. It s a lot of money that I plan to use to help a lot of soldiers. I don’t know the exact amount of canes that I can make in a year, but as mentioned, I plan to continue supplying canes after the deadline as long as I have funds and supplies to do so. I hope to create between 500-1000 plus canes. That’s a big discretion in numbers, but I want to make sure I do the minimum, so the maxium number is not set.
Please be sure that I will give the soldiers the best quaity product possible. My canes are guaranteed, so if they need anything altered or fixed, I intend to do so, at my cost.
My company is a small for profit business and I do have bills to pay, but I do not intend to cheat the soldiers or public by providing just a few, shotty canes. My canes are created to give the best in comfort, support and style for the user. The intention here is to provide as many canes as possible until the funds run out. The costs of this project will entail vairous expenses including advertising/marketing, supplies, workshop expenses, phone calls and delivery costs.
Our canes are guaranteed, so if a soldier needs their cane altered or fixed, this will be an out of pocket expense for me.
Please see the postings below for examples of the styles we plan to offer.
I hope you will consider helping me and the soldiers by voting for my project: Custom artistic ergonomic fancy wood canes for wounded warriors :
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
My work can also be viewed at Big Stick Canes.
VOTE NOW! (Every day May 1 – May 31) Custom artistic ergonomic fancy wood canes for wounded warriors through the Pepsi Refresh Project. To do this, I need your help by voting for my project between May 1 (NOON/12:00 PM EST) – May 31, every day. The more votes, the more chance I have in winning and being selected for this grant. It is a lot of money that can go to helping our soldiers who gave their all and never looked back. Unfortunately, many of these men and women did not survive to come home, but the ones who have, may now have a severe physical handicap that they are expected to endure without much support.
My project Custom artistic ergonomic fancy wood canes for wounded warriors is a small token towards showing appreciation to these wounded warriors that someone does appreciate their self-less devotion to our country and our freedom and even if i can’t heal their wounds, I can give them a nice cane that will help them through their daily hardships.
Pepsi Refresh Project. May 1 (NOON 12:00 PM est) – May 31, every day! Custom artistic ergonomic fancy wood canes for wounded warriors
Examples of canes that we plan to mass produce can be seen here: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/48034.
There are also bonus votes acquired through POWER VOTES: http://www.refresheverything.com/official-application-guidelines
6. Power Voting. Beginning at 12:00:01 p.m. (Noon) ET on May 1, 2011 and ending 11:59:59 p.m. ET on September 30, 2011 (the “Power Voting Period”), a Participant can use a Power Vote Code (as defined below) to receive extra Votes to vote for an idea on the Website. Once a Participant enters a Power Vote Code on the Website, the Participant must use all of those Power Votes associated with the Power Vote Code for one (1) idea by midnight (local time) of the day the Power Vote Code is entered. If you are not ready to cast your Power Votes, do not input your Power Vote Code. Rather, review the Website to find your favorite idea and then insert your Power Vote Code when you are ready to use your Power Votes. Once a Power Vote Code is entered on the Website, the corresponding Power Votes must be used by midnight (local time) on the day such Power Vote Code is entered for one (1) idea otherwise those Power Votes will be forfeited and will not be carried over for use on another day. A Participant may enter and use up to ten (10) Power Vote Codes per day during the Power Voting Period. Power Vote Code must be submitted as set forth herein on or before 11:59:59 p.m. ET on September 30, 2011.
6(a). What is a Power Vote Code? A Power Vote Code is a unique ten-character alphanumeric code (“Power Vote Code”). If you have a Power Vote Code, log on to the Website and look for “Activate Power Voting” in your lower toolbar at the bottom of the page or alternatively click on the Power Votes link in the main navigation to enter your Power Vote Code to see the number of Power Votes associated with that Power Vote Code.
6(b). How many Power Votes are available? The numbers of Power Votes available to Participants are 5, 10, 15, 25, 50 or 100. The number of Power Votes awarded will be randomly determined.
The odds of receiving a particular number of Power Votes depend on the number of Power Vote Codes received and the order in which they are received. The odds are based upon an estimated 3,000,000,000 Power Vote Codes produced; the actual number may vary depending upon the actual number of Power Vote Codes released into the marketplace.
6©. Where to Find A Power Vote Code. Look for a Power Vote Code on specially-marked 2 liter, 20 oz. bottles and 12-pack and 24-pack cans of PEPSI, DIET PEPSI and PEPSI MAX products. A Power Vote Code can be found, while supplies last, printed underneath specially-marked 2 liter and 20 oz. bottle caps, and printed on the reverse side of specially-marked 12-pack and 24-pack carton wraps (referred to as “Power Vote Code” in these rules). Not all products and package sizes may participate in all areas.
6(d). No Purchase Necessary. To receive one (1) free Power Vote Code without purchase, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope postmarked no later than September 7, 2011 and received by September 14, 2011 to Pepsi Refresh Power Votes, P.O. Box 760023, El Paso, TX 88576-0023. Limit one (1) free Power Vote Code per request per household per postmarked outer envelope. Residents of the state of VT may omit return postage. Pepsi-Cola Company (“Sponsor”) assumes no liability for lost, late, stolen, illegible, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete or postage-due mail or requests. **
Thanks for the note. I checked the link and it worked for me. It’s the main page for their project so I have to wait until I get the notification of acceptance before I can post a direct link to my project idea.
I don’t usually try to get involved with popularity contests, but I really need the networking and support of everyone to get this project funded. I want to do this for our soldiers and to do it in a way it will really matter and that means $$$$! The Pepsi Refresh Project will enable me to do this. I plan to work with the Red Cross to get my canes to soldiers who are trying to rehab their lives back to some normalcy here back home.
I hope you will consider helping me and the soldiers by voting for my project: Custom artistic ergonomic fancy wood canes for wounded warriors
As a post 9/11 USMC vet, I can’t thank you enough for helping my friends and colleagues. Thankfully, I made it to the end of my enlistment with no life altering wounds.
I usually donate the proceeds of anything thing I sell on CL to the wounded warrior project. I usually give the buyer the option of making the tax deductible donation in thier name, and show me the receipt.
MMH is really on to something here. A 20-30yo soldier/marine doesn’t want to use some geriatric-looking cane, if they are unlucky enough to need one. These hardwood canes are incredibly slick and would be well recieved.
I think I have corrected the link to the Pepsi Refresh website. If not, just say so. You can also search for my project: Custom artistic ergonomic fancy wood canes for wounded warriors at Pepsi Refresh Project or check out Big Stick Canes .
