I just saw under recent jocks that Philip Marcou has joined Lumberjocks. If you have not seen his custom planes you should take a look.

Just looked at his site, his planes are indeed beautiful and if they perform half as good as they look, they must be a marvel to use. I noticed that there is no pricing information. I guess if you have to ask the price, you really can’t afford one. LOL

Thanks , Robert, hopefully I will be able to put up information useful to woodworkers, tool mag pies and woodworms alike at some stage….Ofcourse this is easier to do when folk actually ask questions.
Saddletramp: I decided not to show prices on my web site for several reasons eg varying exchange rates . I also use various timbers , knob design etc. I also think it better to have a potential customer contact me as I can provide up to date information and advice- I see it as time well spent.

Welcome to Lumberjocks, Philip. I know you will be an asset to the site as I have seen your contributions to another woodworking forum.

I thought to myself “Who is Philip Marcou?”. I went to his site and realize why I don’t know who he is. He makes hand planes, and I HATE hand planes. :D FWIW Philip, your hand planes look VERY nice, and I’m sure they work as good as they look. Welcome a board, any board, and all those hand plane shavings to go with it. :)

Superbly crafted tools, Philip! Reminiscent of the worksmanship of bygone times – and with considerable individual expression and ingenuity.

He’s an absolute star. We’re lucky to have him here. I hope to own a few of his beauties one day.
