No … the T-track is used to set the two stops to restrict horizontal movement.

The sleds can either ride against the aluminum fence for straight line flutes, or follow the contour of the piece (both the router and Dremel jigs have ‘feelers’ on both sides of the cutter to get a consistent depth of cut).
