Overview

Alright L.J.ers, I just got the go ahead for this and I’m excited!

Here is how it works. We want to see your woodworking skills!

We’re giving away 25BF of FAS 4/4 Quarter Sawn White Oak to whoever submits the best project idea for the wood. All you have to do is post some sort of sketch or plan, along with a written description of the project, to this thread. You can include pictures of some finished projects you’re proud of too. We’ll be judging the submissions, but feel free to comment on what you see.

Deadline
Post your project here by May 4th 2011. We’ll pick a winner promptly afterward and announce the winner on this thread!

Be a good friend: if you know someone who has a project coming up, send ‘em here and give them the chance to win.

Details
If you win, you have to snap some pictures for us and allow Eutree to show your project off and credit you as the contest winner.
If you can’t pick up the prize, you’ll have to cover the shipping cost. We’ll find you the best deal we can.
If your project requires a little more than 25BF, submit it anyway! You could still win.

Give it your best shot, and good luck!

-Joel and the Eutree team.

I want to build a wagon for my grandson. He is 20 months old and loves wagons. It will be a buckboard style wagon. I have been waiting to build it until I could afford the lumber. I think 25bf will ‘get er done’ but if it does not, I will purchase the rest if I need to
My previous projects can be seen in my profile.

Am I reading this right? My computer shows this post was started six hours ago on the April 20th 2011, and the deadline for my submission is April 4th 2011. I have had some tough deadlines to work to in my time but I don’t think I’ll be making this one.

Ralmand,

You will have the supplies you need within the week. I talked with they guys and we all have fond memories of our dads, uncles, and grandfathers doing similar projects for us as kids. Please send us your Cut List for the project and address and ill find the best shipping deal I can for you.

EVERYONE ELSE,

The contest is still ON! Please remember to submit your ideas in this thread and not in email. We gotta try and stick with the rules :)

I work at a small university and I make a porch swing for “fellow old guys” when they retire. There is another one coming up. White oak would be awesome!

Build built-in Craftsman style library cabinets to flank the fireplace in the study/family room. The lumber would be used for doors, face frames, mantel and the trim around the fireplace.

That is VERY generous of you! I can’t wait to see what everyone builds. What a great opportunity. I wish I could have entered, but I couldn’t have done so in good conscience. I’ve got too many 1/2 completed projects that need to get done before starting anything new.

Hey everyone thank you for the great response and all the “buddy” requests! I responded to all the emails and messages.

Right now Black Walnut and Curly Cherry seem to be the two most possible give aways for Round Two.

My plan this summer is to build a staircase down a hill side to a creek, I have in the backyard, which is very steep. Then I will build a dam in the creek which is stocked up stream. I would love for my son to learn how to fish in his own back yard!
