Topic tags/keywords: jig miter saw joining shaker arts and crafts question hollow chisel mortise tenon help

Hey Y’all

Wondering if any of you have made/know of anyone who has made a table/extension for there hollow chisel mortiser(benchtop).

My idea is kind of like a miter saw station. Where the miter saw is kinda inset so the table is flush with the station. (example https://s15-us2.ixquick.com/cgi-bin/serveimage?url=http%3A%2F%2Ft0.gstatic.com%2Fimages%3Fq%3Dtbn%3AANd9GcSTTXepRvqNEdf47ZtcrBClaM-2i5KqBgs5vPVrMkmG8yNWRpEv2Q&sp=082d8041db9d886f3dfe28203b0e00a4&anticache=722470)

Is there a reason no one(that I can find) has done this(ie stupid idea)?

Thanks

no such thing as a stupid idea to improve woodworking functionability
as long as it is safe for the operator, onlookers and bystanders.
Pinterest has all kinds of “mortise station” examples.

.

Norm Abram built one on one of his TV shows.
