I’ve been looking long and hard at the Domino jointer. I’m not a fan of paying excessive prices for anything. Festool has always had been placed in that category for me but I was going to get one before the price increases. Last year I was in the same predicament but decided to wait.

I also get 5% discount for purchases at Amazon with their in-house store Prime credit card so I was looking there to look at options and prices for the tenons, etc.

Well, when I was looking I saw there was an Amazon Warehouse price with 1 item and 11 minutes remaining. It said it would not be in the original packaging and discoloration marks on the top. I was pressed on time so figured why not. I could always return it. The price? Well, it was no $25 dollar dust extractor price like RJ got but this was the kit version which is normally $990. The Amazon Warehouse price? $693 plus the 5% discount.

How could I refuse.

Well, it arrived today and to my surprise, when I opened the box, it wasn’t a bare tool but rather the systainer. It wasn’t clean but looked like it had been in a woodshop and had some dust stains on it. The tool looked a little used but everything was intact and nothing was broken. My guess is someone ordered it specifically for a job and then returned it during Festool’s no questions asked return timeframe.

I am going to get a dust extractor (probably Fein) along with a dust deputy and make a cart and then I’ll be ready to try this out. I do want to get the pack of domino tenons with the cutters.

Here are some pictures of the tool and packaging. Don’t know why they’re a bit fuzzy but you get the idea ;)

Congratulations! Good one.

If you do get the Fein, let me know if you come up with a fool-proof hose connection. Mine is jury-rigged with what I had around and some duct tape!

check amazon.de for the domino tenon/cutter/systainer package. I saved about $100. as you go through the ordering process the price will go down when you select a US shipping address due to the VAT.
