Topic tags/keywords: festool domino df 500 domino xl cutter head set bundle pack question

Years ago I bought the Festool Domino DF 500 Q set. It only comes with 1 cutter head so I went online and found a set of cutter heads (all sizes) for the DF 500. It came with a small clear plastic case to hold them all. It was cheaper than buying each cutter head separate.

Now I bought the Domino XL 700 and am looking for the same pack for it but can’t find it anywhere. I can’t even find the same set I bought for the 500 a few years back. Does anybody know of anyone that sells them this way still? I’ve checked Amazon, Tool Nut, CPO, and others with no luck. Just thought I’d try here before biting the bullet and buying them all separate and getting the adapter. Thanks in advance.

Mike

I just bought a 500 and have been looking but the only thing I have seen officially from Festool are the complete packs of domino tenons and they have cutters in there.

I believe there is an aftermarket company that makes cutters for the XL 700 but I’m not sure if they’re just to give the 700 the ability to cut smaller sizes or they can do the larger sizes as well. What I’ve seen is that they allow the 700 to cut 500 size mortises. I believe the company is called Seneca.

yes, I bought the seneca adapter when I bought the XL so I could use up the rest of my tenon stock from my DF 500 that I sold. I works great. I also bought a cutter head from CMT that has been so so. The reviews were either great or terrible but it was about $50 less than the festool cutter head so I thought I’d give it a try. It hasn’t broke yet like a lot of the bad reviews said so that’s good but the tenons are not as tight as with the festool cutter.

Back to the original reason for this post. I guess they don’t sell the cutter heads (all sizes) in a bundle anymore. Thats ok. I guess you really don’t need every size.

Thanks waho6o9. Still not the bundle pack but looks like a good site for tools that I didn’t know about.
