Topic tags/keywords: question mahogany finishing

So this winter I built a great bookshelf and when i went to finish it with the clear coat something went wrong. I think that since the weather was sooo cold it made the clear dry cloudy. From what I’ve read the low temp was the issue. Now need to fix this and finish this darn project! Any suggestions on how to bring this project across the finish line?!

What kind of finish is it ? water base or oil base?

Water base. It was polycrylic.

My 16 year old plastic laminate cabinets are a neutral color with colonial blue doors. The are horribly dated. I can’t afford new cabinets but must do something. Can I successfully apply crackle paint to them to improve their look? Would this present problems? Do I have other options?
