Topic tags/keywords: resource tip veneering

I was watching the series over at Matt’s Basement Work shop about his Buffet he made and showed a tip for repairing veneer so I thought I would try the procedure out for doing inlay. Basically what I did was use my 1/8” spiral cutter and ran a groove the length you see on the board below just a bit shallower then a piece of edge banding, the stuff that comes with glue for iron on. I then put some glue into the groove then laid the edge banding over the groove then wax paper over that, I put a piece of dense foam over the wax paper and clamped it down with a caul then when it was dry I hit it with a card scraper “not a very good one”. I think this can be used for the project I am starting which is an arts & crafts living room set (2 end tables, coffee table and sofa table) and would like to put some accents on them to enhance the design a bit.
