Hello again,
I found these planers on Kijiji. The seller did not provide any info other than “3 medium antique wood planers”. What would you opinion be on these planers, regarding to quality and price?
Thanks! :)

Well, they are transition planes. Transitioning from wood to all metal.

Ok. Would they be good as a first set of planes? Is $35 a good price for the lot?

Looks like a good deal for $35. Just need to clean them up.

BigCM,

You most definitely do not need three almost identical planes and you can get a very good #5 all metal handplane in a flea market for 20$ (I did). In any case, be prepared to spend 4-5 hours/plane to recondition them to usable shape. Possibly, you might have to spend extra money to replace the iron (depends if you want the modern steel that holds the edge better or not). In my opinion, old planes are not worth it (and I did buy and restored some). You might be better off saving money for a #5 Veritas.

This is just my opinion, of course.
