want to rout a 2” groove in a 12” piece of maple to hold crackers. center will hold a slab of cheese. any suggestions????? thanks

Make a pattern and then use a pattern bit.

i would suggest using a plunge router with a circle jig

I made something similar on a lathe. It was very easy. Of course, I have a lathe!!
