I think this is actually a jigsaw. The scroll saws have a flexible arm on the top while this saw has a spring that returns the blade. This was produced before people decided jigsaws were the little hand held power saws that we can buy at Lowes or HD. We used to call those sabre saws. Just a pet peeve of mine when names get changed without consulting the masses. LOL these were not bad old saws but they are not the same as a Sears scroller sold today. Just had to say something since no one has responded to take this guy home.

It’s an attractive piece of vintage machinery. I hope it finds a nice home but scrolling/jigsawing isn’t another addiction I need :)
