Topic tags/keywords: formica metal doors glue laminate question

Hi!

I´m trying to glue formica laminate to metal doors (zinc metal), but after some time (about week) some laminate will develope bubbles, but most wont. Glue i use is SIMSON MSR BC, so i wonder if any of you have any ideas what is making the bubbles, could it be cold (the metal is shrinking, and laminate wont)? Dents in door surface? Frankly i think it could be all of reasons or none of reasons. Previously i used liquid PUR, but the outcome was far worse.
PS. sorry for my grammar, english is not my native language :)

Quick question: How hot does the door get?

When I laminated large surfaces, I had a couple trouble spots that broke loose. I heated the area with my hot air gun, laid weight on it and let it sit for a few hours. After that, the area was good as gold again. As such, if you had significant heat on a metal door, it could delaminate with contact type cements.
