I added a dw790 to the shop yesterday. I still have to get it set up. It is in fairly good shape. Adjustments seem to work and the motor run extremely smooth and is so quiet I can barely hear it run. It is wired for 220. I am going to run strictly a dado blade on it. I have a wall unit to build next week that is 10’ tall and 30’ wide and all sections have just 4 fixed shelves dadoed in evenly spaced apart. Cutting the dados will be easy now. I will likely set blade hieght off table at 3/8”. Using a tape measure it does appear that I should be able to set the saw up to cut out to between 17” and 18” or so. I gave 200. I plan to fully renovate and restore this saw soon when I get some extra time. It will be a work horse in our shop. In about two months we are inheriting a new, never been used Ridgid raw my dad bought a long time ago and never set up. I am going to install the Ridgid right next to the Dw and run a regular thin Kerr blade as a secondary to our sliding miter saw. We sometimes get log jams at the miter station. -- . |
