Topic tags/keywords: wood lumber lumber mills lumber yards hardwood

I just moved to Lady Lake, FL and had been told there were several small lumber mills that could provide wood for craft and furniture projects.

I’ve been buying from HD but then learned that they charge quite a bit higher. I’m looking for wood to make furniture such as headboards, beds, tables, etc. Lady Lake is in Lake County, right in the middle of the state (E-W), and about an hour north of Orlando and 25 miles south of Ocala. Suggestions and tips would be very much appreciated!

Try The Ole General Store in Geneva.

Good selection, reasonable prices, and very nice folks.

Don’t know about Mills, but Gleman & Sons in Sanford is a good source for larger lumber and variety. I tend to scrounge around the scraps bin at Woodcraft and hunt for some on FB Marketplace / Craigslist.
