Looking at these two different saws. Both are similar in power (2 HP vs 1 3/4 HP). The Grizzly is $859 delivered and this weekend, I can purchase the Jet for $900. Very little difference in price. Is there a big difference in quality between the two brands. Not sure if this is a Chevy vs. Ford kind of question, or if there really is a difference. I have read several reviews here and find that there are many, many opinions about Grizzly, both good and not-so-good. Any feedback is appreciated!

This is a good comparison of the better hybrid saws, and is definitely a Ford / Chevy question in my view. No real significant quality differences AFAIK, and both seem to be very solid saws. Unless the comments you’re reading pertain to the particular models you’re looking for, and/or to service experiences, they’re really circumstantial.

In this case, both have similar designs under the hood, the Griz has a riving knife, a full enclosure, and has what looks to me as a more substantial fence. The Jet is an older model but has dealer support and longer warranty. Which are more important to you? If you’re buying the Jet mail order, you’re giving up the benefit of dealer support…one of the main advantages of going that route.

Good luck!
