Well, my traditional source for project wood is gone. The place was called “World of Hardwoods” and they were next to the 84 Lumber near the corner of Dorsey Road (176) and Telegraph Road (173) near the BWI airport. I went by there the other day and it looks like it is now owned by a maintenance service of some kind. I know about the Woodcraft Store in NE Baltimore but if anyone knows of a place nearer to Glen Burnie, I’d appreciate any and all responses as I’ll probably check them all out eventually.

A little out of your way but Google- Hicksville Planing Mill. Buy all my stuff there and have never been disappointed. Don’t try to call them, just go. They’re closed on Thursday. Cash no credit.

Just found out from Tonyo (another lumberjock) that my wood store moved to Linthicum. They are still World of Hardwoods.

If you ever find yourself in western MD, Deep Creek Lake area , I’ve been known to part with some of my stash.

Not sure if this would be accessible to you distance-wise but here are a couple suppliers in MD:

The one I usually go to is in Vienna, Northern Virginia (since I live here) :) and it’s address is:

If you have some you’d like to part with I might be interested too.

Hope this helps.

gwadam, you’re just a short hop from us in southern MD, I work in your neck of the woods, There’s a sawyer down here, here’s his Woodfinder Page

He runs a great business has loads of species and tends to have great deals every month. Also if you like fishin’ he keeps several trout ponds stocked on his land and sells you what you catch. You can take a trip and bring home stock and some dinner at the same time…LOL ever see a 20”+ rainbow trout??

I’m a happy camper now. My local woodstore has been found. Thank you everyone for the locations and contact infor for so many other places for me to check out. I really appreciate it.

pvwoodcrafts – I try to get up to Green Ridge a couple times a year for camping. I might look you up next time I get a chance to get up there.

My wife saw this slab in someone’s yard and told me I have to make a table. It’s about 3 and a half feet wide and tall and about 8 inches thick. Don’t know what it is yet, I just picked it up today.
