Topic tags/keywords: stanley plane bolts screws plane restore

I recently had to drill out a bolt on an old Stanley plane. The plane only cost me $15 so no big loss. Anyway, since Stanley bolts are not common thread, I ordered a bunch of similarly sized and shaped bolts. I had to redrill and retap the holes for 1/4” by 20tpi though. These are not big box store Phillips round head bolts either. They are slotted fillister (for the frog) and slotted round (for the tote) that I ordered from an industrial supply center I used to work with regularly.

I have a ton left over since I could only buy by the box. If anyone is interested, I’d be happy to send some along for a buck plus whatever postage would be.

The bolts I have are 1/4×20tpi Fillister (for frog) and round head (for the tote). I’d be more than happy to send some pics but I’m out of town for the next week and a half.
