I’m considering building one of these, I bought the plans and there’s only one modification I would make to it, I just want to make sure I’m not screwing the design up. I would like to be able to fit some drawers in this thing, my storage space is VERY limited so I have to make the most out of it. My idea right now is to basically flip the bas so the 2*8 stretcher is in the back as in opposed to the front, then put another stretcher of some sort on what would be the new front and support the drawer box on it.

If I’m understanding correctly the stretcher stiffens the whole thing for when you use it for planing, which I rarely do….

Any thoughts?

Can we see a sketch of the plans. Is it roubo, trestle etc… To me the stretcher is for support and clamping maybe ….
