Jeez, I never thought this item would be so hard-to-find!! I need to find a small lamp like the kind a museum might use to illuminate a painting. These lamps clamp or fasten to the back of the picture frame, and shine down onto the surface of the painting from above. I’ve seen plenty of various cabinet light fixtures, those are all not quite right. Rockler, Lee Valley, and Van Dyke struck out. Does anyone know where I can buy a light fixture that is SPECIFICALLY made for illuminating paintings as in galleries and/or museums? ps: Under $100, guys!! Yep, I’ve seen units in the $350-$600 range…..

Have you tried calling the WAG (Winnipeg Art Gallery for the out of Winnipeg set) to see if they have any info? They may be able to give you a local lead.

Drewnahant: WOW! the exact unit my recipient described is in the website you suggested!! BigTiny: I never thought of WAG, that is a good lead also! I’ve been holding off on visiting there again until the next exhibit of artist Christopher Pratt’s work comes to town. Got your lathe up and running yet?
Thanks again, guys! Lumberjocks is ACE.

Update: Drewnahant: Thanks!!! I’ve got the order under way from LampsPlus. They had exactly what I needed, and ordering online was a breeze! Thanks to you too, BigTiny for being your resourceful self!
