I have only one PMV11 blade, in a spokeshave.

WHen you sharpen it, do you get a burr on the back? It seems to be getting plenty sharp, but I can never feel a burr. I’m wondering if I am doing something wrong, or if it is just a property of this steel?

Good question. I have a set of chisels and several plane blades of PMV11. I never really check for the burr, just sharpen the bevel on progressive grits and then give the back a couple of swipes at the end. Usually if I haven’t sharpened all the way up the bevel it’s pretty obvious by the pattern of scratch marks.

I have a chisel and a couple of plane blades – they seem to turn a burr like any other tool steel. Not sure what you might be doing “wrong” although if the spokeshave cuts well I don’t think I’d worry about it.
