Oneway Balancer and Delta GR450 Grinder

Bought a grinder and the oneway wolvering sharpening system for my wife who likes woodturning.

I got the GR450 variable speed 8 inch grinder and also decided to order the Oneway wheel balancers that have been very well reviewed.

Have people been able to use the balancers with the stock wheels? I assumed that all of the 8 inch wheels had a 1 inch hole (with a plastic bushing to get the 5/8 shaft).
However I am finding that even when I remove the plastic bushing – the hole is substantially smaller than 1 inch – closer to 7/8.

Is this perhaps a new thing for the wheels – because all of the aftermarket wheels have a 1 inch hole – did everybody have to get new wheels to use the balancers?
