I am going to start using my lathe again after about a year of being idle because of an illness. It is a delta 46-460 and has been in my out building. Is there anything I need to do to it or check on it before I start using it? Thanks for the help.

Not really. Clean it off, start slow, and if nothing sounds amiss, go for it.

I am glad you fell well enough to start using your lathe again.
