I am building a new front door for my house. I was going to make it out of 1&7/8 oak. I have seen the David Marks and Norm door projects, they look simple but I am wondering if anyone has any advice for me before I start.

Thanks,
-AG

Some people use marine varnish to finish the outside of the door, especially if it’s facing the sun in the afternoon. Also, definitely spend the extra money for a quality lock set from a reputable company like Baldwin.
