Topic tags/keywords: question cedar oak

Preparing to build some Rocket style bat houses. We live in Louisville, KY. Need advise on what lumber is best suited for this cedar or oak. Must use UNTREATED rough cut 4×4x16ft posts. Does anyone know of anyone within 50 miles who has these posts. I saw a message from guys in Fort Knox that I would like contact about this but I don’t know how to contact them.

Either cedar or White oak would be good, not red oak. Also black locust or cypress or sassafrass. Check out to find someone in your area to supply. Also check WoodMizer or another portable sawmill mfg for a list of sawyers in your immediate area. Don’t go batty over this. (Sorry, the Devil made me do it).
