There’s a Rockwell 28https://baltimore.craigslist.org/tls/d/woodworking-machines/6467554284.html-200 I can get for $300. Is that a good 14”?
It has a new motor.

That is the industry standard Delta cast iron 14” bandsaw – it’s what the other imported clones are copies of.
Fixed link: Woodworking machines - $375 (Reisterstown)

Cheers,
Brad

That seems like a good thing if it’s what everyone else copies. Is $300 a deal, or should I want for something more substantial? Iyo.

Whether you want to hold out for a larger
saw is a matter of where you want to go
with woodworking.

On the used market you can often acquire
larger machinery for much lower price/pound
ratio than what you see on that saw, but larger
machines are more hassle to move, sometimes
costlier to repair, and may require 3-phase
power.

If your fascination with woodworking becomes
a fascination with heavier machinery, heaven
help you, but have fun.

As I live fairly close to the OP, there are a ton of used 14” bandsaws on CL. However, they’re all the ones with very little resaw capability like the one posted.

For me, I want a bandsaw that can handle some decent resawing and I’ve only seen a handful come up in the last 6 months or so. I’m still kicking myself(well, really my wife since she forgot her phone that day) for missing out on a 10-326 with a brand new kreg fence and log jig for $500. I missed it by 20 mins.

Anyways, here’s one that I would be interested in, but not at the current listed price.

Or this one if you’re just looking for something for the near future.
