Topic tags/keywords: chisel shaping

My Narex chisel set arrived from Lee Valley
This is how they came in the box, bouncing around inside, one of the plastic protectors had came off
I think they should have been packed better.
What do you think ?

what a disgrace, stanley chisels are packaged better, I would really expect them to do a better job with such nice tools. I hope you wrote an e-mail to lee valley, that is just unacceptable.

Its their “Green” shipping option, you either get packing material or a catalog. ;~O….

I’d send them this picture, along with their big fat catalog. with a post it note saying “If you can’t pack a box with Items I spent my HARD EARNED money on better than this. You can count me out as a future customer.”

Bubinga;

I would send them a link to this post just to make sure that they understand that their poor packing is widely circulated to the woodworking community.

I will say that this has not been my past experience with Lee Vallery at all. Must have been packed right before quitting time on a Friday?

Good Luck!

Same as “Viking”.... although I have 2 of their stores within a short driving distance of me so I pick everything up myself.

“Somebody” was not in a good mood when they packaged those Chisels! If anything Lee valley is Extremely Conscious of “Customer Service.”

So! We gonna fix it for you E J if it can be “Fixed” i.e The Deed Has been Done

Rob Lee, President of Lee Valley Tools and Veritas is a Member of Lumberjocks. I have him in my “Buddies”.

I will, right now, send him a Link to this Post. I have NO doubt he will respnd ASAP!

Rick

EDIT: PM has now gone to Rob Lee

Luckily they were not damaged,
I my wait a couple of days ,and send them a link to here
I didn’t look at packing slip yet ,to see if packer signed it
I WAS surprised, a company of there caliber would do this
Someone might get there butt chewed for this,or worse

I cut the sides of them with my coping saw and slip them over my chisels. Protects them in my toolbox and keeps the chisel from rolling off the workbench. They stay on better than the ones that come with the chisels.
