I’m in the planning phase of a kitchen cart that will have a couple doors on it. I’m looking to have the top rail of the doors arched on the inside and am wondering what the best way to route the inside groove and profile will be. I have the necessary rail/stile bits but am concerned with the portion of the arch at which I’ll be going against the grain.

What are the best practices to prevent the piece from splintering/blowing out/breaking apart? It’s being built out of white oak, most likely, though that hasn’t been fully decided upon yet.

Thanks for your help!
