I have never used the Festool Domino. I sell them and love every other Festool I own. I finally bought the 500 set and oh man! I did my first domino ever on some MDF trim.

Yeah…they are super good at what they do. Worth the price, if you can pay it

I broke down and got one last year and I also love mine. There are lots of other ways to join pieces but nothing else available can do what it does.

Somebody said they run training on the domino specifically, showing you everything it does. I get the basics and it’ll be a while before I’m smooth and efficient but I guess it’s capable of much more.

How much longer until HF comes out with their version for $199? There was actually a homemade version on YouTube that seemed to work well. Made out of wood.

... when the patent expires. Lamello had a patent
on the plate joiner that expired in the 1980s. Woodworking
magazines went crazy with projects put together
with biscuits.
