Slotted shim. My pops hooked my up with a crapload of SS slotted shims from .001-.025 and a couple .25. I use them a lot.

I guess that’s the answer you were looking for?

Did you do your Home Icon Sideways for a Reason?

We use them in automotive as well, older cars and trucks requires shims, shaped like a U. They come in 1/64 ths and up. May be hard to find may not be. I have a collection so have not bought in years.

You can buy ‘brass’ sheet in different thicknesses and cut your own shims.

I bought this set a couple of years ago for $30 (looks like it has gone up in price a bit). Here is another set a little cheaper in steel. The different thicknesses really come in handy when your trying to get your shaper or planer into spec

I make most of my shims out of drink cans.
