I’ve heard of hot pipe bending before but never thought to use a curling iron! Check out the project he makes…calls it a through in lay cutting board. I’m going to try it! Looks neat and simple!

Goodwills are full of thick and thin curling irons for different radii?, radiuses?

Ted,
Did you do that with a curling iron?
I was thinking that to! Likely they are a dime a dozen. They make a tapered curling iron…my wife has one. I’m not sure what they are exactly for but i was wondering if you could make a lamp shade with one…

BandsawJeff Yes I did! Cut some strips of silver maple on the band saw, used an improvised scraper to smooth up the strip and bend it into shape by spritzing it with a spray bottle and then shaping it around a curling iron. I didn’t know tapered curling irons existed, but I like the lamp shade idea.

Well done Ted!
I did a bit of research on curling irons and they come in a wide variety of head types. I like the looks of the reverse conical setup.
