Topic tags/keywords: sofa chesterfield upholstery leather couch

Hey guys (and gals)
I design and build furniture and recently started doing upholstery work. Well my wife wants to buy a Chesterfield Sofa and I was wondering if anyone had built/made one of these before. I would like to take the challenge on but honestly have no idea where to start. If anyone had drawings/plans I would love them. On this project I feel no need to be original. there are plenty of great designs I would take any of those and just customize them if possible. Thanks.

Ben,

Go to www.finewoodworking.com/fwnpdf/011049060.pdf for a plan for a chippendale sofa. All you would have to do would be to straighten the back and make the arms the same height. It goes into great detail on hou to roll the arms. They require a membership to see it, but they give you a free 30 day trial. It’s well worth it. In 30 days you can download a bunch of pdfs. For upholstery techniques, Check out Nahm’s site www.newyankeeworkshop.com. He built a bit of upholstered stuff. Should pick up enough info to make it possible. Hope this helps.
