I manage but why pictures wind up upside down. I can’t seem to get a series of pictures and comments on the same post.

Good point Lizardhead, I too am from the quill pen and slide rule era and I think a good tutorial aimed at us that did not grow up with the digital devises would be a great thing …

One thing I have noticed (it could just be my imagination) is that the pictures that post upside down are taken with a phone, and when I use a real camera they post right side up … I don’t know why some phones do it one way and others don’t …

Also, on my Nikon camera, I had to change the picture size way down or they would not post …

just a couple of observations …

I’m on a Mac Mini. When I post a picture(s), I first open it (them) in Preview, at which time I can select the orientation I need, and then hit “Save” then close the picture and can then import it into a post and it will have the same orientation. If I don’t save it first, it can be upside down or sideways almost every time. I would guess that same procedure would work on a PC.
Adding multiple pictures should just be a matter or going thru the same procedure for each picture. I.e. click on “img” button, select file, open file, import picture.
My pictures are medium file size for a picture.
Comments can be either before or after a picture depending on where your cursor is prior to uploading the picture.
More info on ” add a blog entry” I believe.

A number of members have posted how-tos on uploading photos right side up. It mainly involves not uploading the photo directly from the phone’s camera, but importing into and then exporting it from an image editing program. I use Adobe Lightroom. Their Creative Cloud package includes Lightroom and Photoshop for $10/month. Lightroom’s export feature also allows setting the max file size on export, so Grumpymike’s high resolution Nikon camera photos will export under the Lumberjock limit.

There are several free applications that will do the same thing as well. Search around for ones for your operating system.

I’ve tested a variety of android phones and found that upside down or turned pictures happen for one of two reasons. 1. Because the orientation of your phone was locked to portrait. 2. Your phone was in the wrong orientation relative to the camera, which is easier than you might think. Your phone camera has a camera icon that tells you the orientation of the photo. I also tested cameras and pictures from some cameras did post sideways. In those cases you have to use a program like IrfanView to rotate and save. No idea about Apple products.

I was not aware that a telephone was used as a camera. I I have 2 canons, 5 GoPros, a Nikon and an Olympus, never have I ever tried to call my mom on any of them, technology go figure.
