jpj, hard to believe your machine has not sold. That is a nice one. Amazing that on these forums you see many inexperianced people make comments about the value on these type things. Many don’t know what they don’t know. If I needed a planer I would be all over that one. Hard to figure isn’t it, some will pay near 500 bucks for a yellow toy machine but cannot comprehend twice the money for ten times the machine. Good luck with it ! JB

Not to seem negative, because after all, I much prefer older well made machinery. A good heavy duty machine is so much better than the cheap junk sold at HD and lowes.

That said, in my area prices are fairly low for some good machinery, which is good or bad, good for the buyer, bad for the seller. Like, I gave 2,000.00 for a like new woodmaster 725 with a 7 hp motor and accessory kits. My friend gave 500.00 for a 24” heavy grizzly planer. I currently have the top bid on a very heavy Delta 24” planer, my current bid is 75.00 and I will likely go as high as 500.00 and that will most likely be enough to win. I am currently contacting a seller online who is asking 365.00 for an older model 12” Woodmaster planer 5 hp, heavy unit. I hope to get that planer. My goal is to use the 725 planer for molding cut, if I get the 12” woodmaster I will set it up as a gang rip saw and I hope to land the Delta 25” planer we will use as simply a planer.

On the flip side, if I were to sell off my tools, I would find myself hoping to get far more than what the market realistically will yield.

In any case, you might have already sold your planer and I hope you got near your asking price.

There is a guy currently listing a Delta lunchbox planer, a past model, for 500.00 on CL. He is so overpriced and I have to see that listing pop up twice a week. He doe not budge on his price and he is very persistent. I think he knows his cheap junk is not worth 500.00 but intends on preying on the ignorant at some point.
