Topic tags/keywords: dog house doghouse help

Hi, i am completely new to building with wood and my first project was to build a dog house.
I finished it, but i don’t know how to connect the ladder to the platform thing i made.
The ladder is only staying up because it is leaning against it.
OH and the top board is detachable.
Any help is greatly appreciated :D

you could use hinges, or a 2×4 notched with the angle of the ramp that could be screwed into the top and the ramp. by the way great job on your first project. keep up the good work.

Maybe some shelf brackets would do the trick (right angle brackets. Fix one side under the ladder and the other side to the wall. Great looking kennel.

I agree with what Grumpy said, use shelf brackets. Or you could just use some 2×2’s as brackets. Cut them to fit the bottom side of the ladder, then attached that to the doghouse.
Cool design by the way.

Thanks everyone for the help, im gonna use the 2×2 bracket idea.
Im also planning on implementing a column under the ramp dock thing for support.
But for now my parents wont even let me get a dog.
Its ok tho cause i can fit inside the doghouse haha

oh yeah and i designed it all myself, ill put up my sketches if a lot of people want it.

You could probably sell a lot of plans to us guys that are “in the dog house”. Much nicer digs than than most dog houses. Seriously: super job. .... and you’re new at this?
