Look in your wife’s craft room.

PS: While you are in there, you may find some other things you didn’t know you were missing.

Check in your left hand. It’s the one on your left.

Probably next to the tape measure, wherever that is.

Or you could purchase another one and later discover where you placed the other two. I recently realized I own three brad nail guns. Good grief.

One thing is for sure, you will find it in the last place you look!

Reminds me of the standard opening joke from Scott Hollingsworth, the guy who hosted the local Magic Island dinner and a show restaurant in Houston.

“If you lost a roll of $100 bills wrapped in a rubber band…......

We found your rubber band!”

Maybe not much of a comedian, but he could do some serious sleight of hand at an up close table.

Hopefully that helps you find your glue gun.

You know, it’s easy to joke around about this topic…but I’d like to have all the time I have spent repeatedly looking for some “item” that is chronically gone, but I know I own. Got so tired of wasting so much time on those stupid same things that are perpetually gone I made a special “disappearing item shelf” and make sure I place the constantly gone thing, whatever it is, back there when I am done. What’s amazing is that some of this stuff is not all that small….packing tape dispenser, good Fiskar scissors, hot melt glue gun {gee!!! you too??}, scratch awl, small chainsaw file, Arrow T-50 stapler and staples, cigar cutter and lighter, favorite adjustable wrench, funnel {of any kind}, 550 para-chord…..some of these things got so bad I actually painted them blaze orange to help find them…also, another thing that works good is to stick a few small pieces of reflective tape on something. When it is lost in the shop I turn out the lights and shine a flash light!!!! Actually works pretty good. Sad thing is, my current shop is not that large or in a state of disarray!!!

this is why I had to start using really bright pencils. Those standard yellow ones look just like saw dust. I also can never find my tape measures or combination squares. Which is why I have multiples sitting around. @msinc those are some great ideas.

I like the reflective tape idea. I got home from work one day and my wife was crying because the diamond fell out of her ring. She was distraught after looking for it hours on end. I had a similar epiphany, grabbed a flashlight and turned out the lights. Within a minute I saw it gleaming from under the dresser!

DOES anyone know where I put my hot melt glue gun?

- Jack Lewis

UPDATE: Who ever used it and brought it back, THANKS
But why return it to someplace that I would NEVER use hot melt glue for any purpose?
I would sell the darn thing now except I would lose the other one if I did.

That’s what I did with tape measures!
