Hello,
If this is in the wrong place I am sorry.
I have a PC 890 router that I primarily use in a table and I have managed to break the spindle locking pin. I have purchased the replacement pin but now would appreciate some information as to how to replace it.

I have not looked too closely at it yet and have definitely not attempted to disassemble it yet.

Any help and assistance is appreciated.

Thanks.

I broke mine the first month of use…

I figured it wasn’t worth replacing cause it broke so so easily…

The replacement would broke just as easily…

surfin2,

You may be right abou that. It took me a little longer than the first month or so, probably a little over a year to break mine.
I like the convenience of 1 wrench to change bits, but I guess it is not the end of the world.

Has anyone had any experience with replacing these pins?

Thanks.

Mine’s still working (knock on wood). I replaced one on a cheap Skill router one time but I’m afraid I won’t be much help. I don’t remember it being too terribly bad. Surely you’ll find help here or at least an exploded parts diagram.

Is it part #64 that you ordered? the good news, as I read it is the actuator is in the base, not the motor. Any engineers around here?

What Rick said. I don’t think the pin on mine lasted a week.
