Topic tags/keywords: jointer planer grizzly mobile base I am considering buying a 12 inch jointer planer from Grizzly (The specific models that Grizzly has are the G0634XP and G0634Z). Also if anyone owns these models I would also appreciate feedback on: I was considering one of these models (mainly because space is at a premium) or a regular jointer such as the G0490X. The latter model has been well reviewed and they are generally favorable. Comments appreciated. Vijay |

Hopefully someone who is familiar with them will drop by shortly. Just positing to say I had considered the earlier 12 inch model and compared it to offerings from Jet and Laguna, but didn’t want the Grizzly because the way the fence was mounted, it stuck out from the rear a bit, and had to be taken off to change over. Looks like this one is easier to change over. Rikon has also entered this market, you may want to look at it – though the Rikon has the fence tube sticking out the back. I went with the Jet and like it, though Grizzly usually is better in terms of pricing. |

Does the Jet come with the spiral carbide head and a mobile base? If you would give a brief review I would appreciate it. Vijay |

I have the Grizzly 8 inch jointer. It came with a mobile frame which has worked just fine. I have been pleased with the machine and have nothing but good to say about the customer service at grizzly. |

Hi there. I was wandering if you did get the grizzly after all and if you are happy with? I am also looking for a combo due to space. What is the max length of board you can joint on it and still get decent results? -- One can dream, about a passion not yet fully fulfilled! |

Avoid the Jet 12”. There are numerous complaints about warped tables and a problem with them always moving out of alignment. Check out the threads on Sawmill Creek |

THATS WHY YOU BUY YOUR STUFF AT A WOODWORKING MACHINE DEALER. THEY CHECK IT BEFORE YOU TAKE IT. |
