Hi! I got this old peugeot frerès handdrill in pretty good shape.
I wonder if some of you in this forum could tell me more about it, its original colours, how old it may be, and so on. i`ve tryed to google it but can`t find anything that look the same.
It`s a two speed with locked gear (see picture) and look pretty rare to me.
I`m from Norway, sorry my bad writing:)

Thanks for your help!!

I read that peugeot was a large tool maker in france, possibly like stanley. You can use a google translator and come up with “drill (or “bor”) = chignole” ,,then go to google france and search the names peugeot freres chignole….here is a start: drill images

These as said are called Breast Drills . You simply place the flattish piece against your breast for purchase and apply chest or really quite forceful breast pressure and simply wind away till your heart is content and your bit comes out through the material being drilled. They were mostly used with the shoulder actually for extra pressure and to stop geting a lot of pain in the chest after a long days work. There are still are quite a few of these oldies around as they were made by the millions a number of years ago.(efore my time of couurse) superceded by battery drills used where there was mostly no electricity makes sense to me.Alistair
