I try to not order anything unless it’s free shipping. Bad thing is I’ve had an order for Woodcraft ready for the last three weeks, waiting on free shipping. Still waiting. Rockler has free shipping now and McFeeley’s has $1 shipping on any order. The thing is, I have two gift cards for Woodcraft. But thanks for the news brtech. I do order from Lee Valley sometimes.

I’m wondering how many LJ’s wait for something like this before they order. To me, the shipping charges are outrageous.

I don’t generally wait until a company offers free shipping to place an order but these “spend x number of dollars to get free shipping” offers sorta rub me the wrong way. If what I want to order doesn’t add up to the dollar amount being offered to get free freight then I generally don’t place an order. I don’t see the logic in spending more to order something I really don’t need just to get free freight.

Well the last time I tried to order something from the first the shipping was more than the item, by 25% then when I put more stuff in the cart to get the freight reasonable I could not afford the total.

I called their customer service about that and was told, that is what our freight is. Personally I liked that attitude but I did not place the order, I might now. I only need a $6.00 item but I am sure I can find $34.00 more of stuff that I could use.
