Topic tags/keywords: plunge router quick change chuck collet router guide

Was there …

WAS there a Bosch Spice ??? I can’t be sure.

Okay … so … over a month ago … I indulged in the VERY dangerous activity of Retail Therapy—chasing the blues away by buying yourself something.

I try not to succumb to it often, but … hey … I’m human.

And … only something like 5wks later … it arrived … my new Bosch 1617EVSPK 2-1/4 HP [fixed !] combo fixed-base/plunge router

... and Bosch RA1054 Deluxe Router Guide.

... AND Whiteside Eliminator RC Quick Chuck.

Initial impressions: held in mid-air, and set at speed setting “D,” it’s very smooth, and very quiet.

More when I’ve actually USED it. I DO intend to actually use it, you know :-)

Nice, Everyone needs a little of therapy from time to time.

Is that 2 1/4 hp rather than 2 1/4”?

well you could struggle through
and build a glass door cabinet
for it

and just go to the shop and admire it

maybe have a few drinks
and talk to it

Bought the same set 3 years ago, I think it works good. Haven’t had a chance to use the edge guide yet. Very smooth operation. And I also have experienced “Retail Therapy” many times. Very soothing but not necessarily painless.

Neil, any chance you can call my wife & explain to her that I need a TON of therapy?
Knowing how nice all your projects come out, that router has found a nice home!

Neil, your therapy is making me feel like I need some therapy. Unfortunately, retail therapy doesn’t apply to having to buy a new car for the wife since her car is finally becoming a brick.

I go through that therapy occasionally, in fact this very router is on my short list.

I guess that makes me a therapist. Maybe we should change our sign and raise our prices.

By the way Neil, I have the same kit in my shop. I love it. You will too.
