I’m sure it has been mentioned on here before, but I thought I’d mention again the good deals that can be had at your local Habitat for Humanity store.

I am preparing to make a router extension wing for my table saw. a 4×8 sheet of laminate at Lowes is around $40. I happened to go by the HfH store today and bought a huge scrap of formica kitchen countertop for $5!

They sell cabinets too, so if you are looking for cheap cabinets for the shop, check out this store!

Thanks for the heads up. Never thought about using them as a supplier.

Very hit or miss, but yes, great deals can be had.
I got a veritas 1 1/8” bench screw, NIB, for $5.
H2H is a great place for hardware. Casters, drawer pulls, hinges, screws, nails, electrical, etc, etc.
Decent tools pop-up form time to time, but its usually all junk.

The cabinets are defintely a good deal. People in my area donate near-mint maple and cherry cabinetry all the time from a kitchen remodel. Light fixtures are also worth a look.

Waiting to get some doors from there.
I did get a number five bailey and a craftsmen jack plane for $7.50. Never found anything else tho. I keep on looking you never know what they might have.

I, also, go by the local HfH store about every two weeks. Yes I have found some deals, but also, hit or miss. You need to stay consistant. My local one (Plano, TX) currently has a lot of nice hardwood molding. Give them a try, several times.

I live in a 100 year old house downtown Raleigh, NC and I am at the HH store all the time picking up things that the big box stores do not carry. I love it.

I’ve been able to pick up ceramic tile, discounted paint and even some S4S oak. You never know just what you might find.

As Tedstor said it can be hit or miss but we have had alot of luck on lighting and other things for the home. Tool have been meh. Good idea on the counter top for a router table though.
