The Sketch Up of my chevalet is finished. I haven’t cluttered it with dimensions but they are all there to me measured in the 3D model. It’s my first venture into Sketch Up and it’s been an adventure. The chevalet took me forty hours to build. The Sketch Up took me 30. Be gentle with critiques please. (but do critique).

If you actually decide to build one please contact me and I will try to help you adjust the dimensions for your body size. I’m 6’4” so if you build to my final dimensions you best be big. I also have lots of pictures that I can share to help you visualize some of the details. I will update the Sketch Up as I make modifications and adjustments to mine.

When you finish your new Chevalet de Marqueterie, be sure to look into the classes offered at The American School of French Marquetry by marquetry master Patrick Edwards.

I wish I could go spend a year or so with Patrick Edwards. He’s probably the smartest person I ever met and probably the most talented woodworker. If you were there, count yourself very lucky.

Thank you very much! I will more than likely be contacting you as I am nowhere as tall as you are! LOL

Great job on the plans, Thanks also for the lead on Mr. Edwards courses. Perhaps one day I will have the chance to attend.

Thanks Paul.
I downloaded from the warehouse, type in search box – “chevalet#2” from the sketchup models into my sketchup pro7,1 and have scrolled and zoomed in from all angles.
You certainly made a nice job of drawing the Chevalet.
I studied all of the photobucket pictures. Beautiful clear photos with consecutive progress, very easy to follow. Thank you so much for going to all this trouble to help skill challenged people like me.
