I am new to pen making and when I bought a pen making kit I also purchased a Mandrel Saver. Supposedly they are supposed to save to life of the mandrel, but the first time I used it, it did not add to the life of the mandrel, but instead started stripping the threads on the mandrel. Is this common or am I doing something wrong?

Add pressure so the bearing turns.

Hi Guys- I think that I found my problem! I have been still using the threaded bold on the mandrel instead of using the mandrel saver to make the pressure.
