It seems that Rockler no longer sells plans for the Heirloom Crib or the drop side hardware. Would like to purchase, borrow, make a copy of the same from fellow woodworkers. Have a new grand child coming. For most it would seem odd but it is my first and I am in my mid-seventies. Any help would be appreciated . I can be reached through my e-mail address: I thank you in advance for any help. Larry R

Even if someone is able to assist you with plans for a crib with drop down sides, it is still going to be very difficult to get the hardware unless you have a way or idea for designing and making your own. Everyone has stopped selling anything to do with drop down side cribs because there has been a rash of lawsuits involving them in the last few years. I understand this design has been used for many years, but you have to understand that someone says the words lawsuit and everyone else runs for the hills.
I’m not immune to it. Just last week someone asked me if I could build a drop down side crib. I quickly told them no. I don’t want to even get into the merits of the lawsuits. Nor do I wish to do a lengthy search for hard to find hardware.
All that being said though, here is a nice design in my opinion. The crib has high enough sides for safety, storage space, and can be converted to a junior bed at a later date as the child grows.
