Hey gang, an apokogy goes out to everyone for not being online lately and posting much for the real addicts of LJs. My computer has had its last day a few weeks ago so I’m using my Wii as my replacement. Typing on here really sucks because I am using a controller not numerous fingers :/ . But anywho, I have a bit of a gloat to pass on. I recently finished my intermediate course for my carpentry apprenticeship and my transcript just came back. I scored a 4.0 GPA this term and have received a $1000 grant from the government. My previous gloat was my paslode 18 ga gas brad nailer but I have 2 more to add. I now have the ryobi various speed drilk press which I’m in love with along with my brand new Ridgid router plus plunge base. Maaaannn do I love my tools!
On another topic, I have a new project to post which I think ya’ll love. In this past week I have been working on my own solid maple bed frame which I literally just set up and polished minutes ago. I will be uploading and posting pics of it on monday when I go to my ol’ mans place seeing as I can,t load pics on Wii :\. I said I wouldn’t let y’all down with this so I hope you like it.
So sorry if I don’t reply much, it just took me 20 min to type this on my Wii. But I will be reading! Thx for reading my apology/gloat!

rand: no i havent backed down in my dewalt obsession but when the price difference is over 100 i think i’d go with the cheaper deal. but i will be buying another dewalt palm sander combo this week. 1/4 sheet and a 5’’ orbital for $99. i always need a new sander as to how much i use them. and by the way i ran into the dewalt lady at HD but the only free stuff she had was dewalt pens lol. i’m a prime customer and all i get is a pen. thx lol

lol come to think about it i think i did. it musta literally rattled my brain! i REALLY like the ridgid router though. powerful, quieter, clear base, LEDs to see your lines/edges, variable speed, and the motor starts up calm, doesnt just jump into full RPM. love it

Hi Mark. Good job on the score for the carpentry apprenticeship. Is it a union apprenticeship? Or through a school? Just curious. My son is a union carpenter for 20 years. He had a 5 year apprenticeship. Good luck on the rest of your apprenticeship and you have acquired some nice tools. Good job. Best regards. Paul

Hi Mark. He is in the Carpenter’s union local 413 in South Bend Indiana. I live in Niles Michigan and he does also. We are in the SW corner of Michigan. South Bend is about a 15 minute drive south from Niles.

Good luck in your apprenticeship and best regards. Paul
