As this is my first post, I would like to thank everyone for sending welcome emails. Very nice. Ok, I just purchased the above saw off CL and is a good upgrade from my direct drive Craftsman. The saw itself is in fantastic condition, no rust or problems with the top. But, there was sawdust caked on everywhere. So, after tearing the saw down and removing the trunnion assembly, a thorough cleaning, I’m putting the saw back together. With the saw upside down, I’ve found that there is some slight play side to side on the trunnion assembly, right where the worm gear is connected to the front trunnion that changes the angle of the blade. There is no play front to back. So, is this slight movement normal for a contractor saw? My OCD is keeping me from using this saw until I can solve this problem. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. |
