Merry Christmas, this is a two parter, first what did you get for Christmas and second what are you getting yourself for Christmas? I got the Worksharp 3000 from my wife and I’m buying myself a new bowl gouge, a D Way 5/8” bowl gouge and also I’m going to pick up the Wonder Weave 2” disk sample pack from Woodturning Wonders. Enjoy the holidays.

Well it has wood on it but it does not do woodworking.
It is a Henry 22 Magnum pump rifle and 900 rounds of ammo!! Merry Christmas to me kind of thing!!!
I didn’t buy any tools this year, but I did get two bowl scrapers from the shop teacher a couple weeks ago, though.

Cheers, Jim

That pump action looks sweet! I have a couple of Henry lever action rifles (.22LR and .357Mag). Nice guns!

Got a few smaller things… speed clamps, bosch orbital sander, chisel guards, Iwasaki half round files, brass router bushing kit, and some tapered plug cutters.

Not getting much for myself (not yet but do a few dollars put aside). I did buy a new resaw blade. I had noted over Thanksgiving that an American holly tree, near my parents, had been cut up. In our rush to pack up and get on the road I forgot to swing buy and grab a log. Called my Dad a few days later and he went and picked some up and brought it up with them along with the usual presents. I now have a stack of holly logs in the back, still white and no severe checking (month after cutting). Figured will saw some up and see if blue stain becomes an issue.

I got a Wen oscillating spindle sander; haven’t tried it out yet. I’m in the process of building a stand for it.

Got the Powermatic 20” helical head planer. Ordered it before Thanksgiving. Got the Black Friday discount (15%?).

Was delivered 2 weeks ago. Had to upgrade electrical service to the detached garage to accommodate this beast.
Just got it up and running. Have only run tester pieces through so far, and discovered I needed dust collection, so
back to the store I went, and I have DC also.

Merry Christmas to all. Tim

I got 20 saw blades! I’m excited to try them. 10 of them are Pegasus 18 TPI and 10 are 10 TPI 6.5” coping saw blades.
And, I think it is related enough for this thread, one of my brothers gave me a copy of The Antique TOOL COLLECTOR’S Guide to Value by Ronald S Barlow. Something like a 1985 edition. Now I will really be in trouble because now I will see tools that I have not seen before and will want badly : )

I bought for myself, two sheets of plywood. I’m going to put together a dual-tool station like the one featured in ShopNotes Vol 13, issue 75. This will be for storing and supporting my electric and hand tool mitre boxes both. I’ll probably wait a week or so to get going on this project.
